 The Week/end That *Was*
My friend’s birthday is nearing and might I say, she’s come up with a pretty hefty Wish List. It begins with some not-so-realistic items: a new car, a diamond ring, and an exotic getaway. (I pity her boyfriend’s credit card balance.) Other items are more realistic: a new pair of jeans, lipstick (I’m all over this one), and bottle service at a trendy lounge (another I can help with—well, the planning part, at least). In case you have a similar, celebration-thirsty friend, I’ve put together a list of some of the best places to be VIP. (I hope her boyfriend is reading this.) Oh, and while we’re on the subject of birthdays, mine is in December (the 5th, in case you care), which should allow you ample time to plan accordingly. Until then, check out last week/end’s photo galleries then check out the good life as a VIP. |

Where to *be* this week/end |
Ghostbar
Yes, we’ve all been to the Ghostbar. But you haven’t truly experienced Dallas nightlife until you’ve partied like Paris Hilton, Erykah Badu, and DJ AM by having your very own table.
Candleroom
The exclusive lounge just off Henderson Avenue tends to get extremely crowded, making it difficult to get from Point A: the back of the club, to Point B: the bar. Skip the hassle and dodge the crowd by reserving your very own table and comfy couch.
Republic, Las Colinas
I’m going to let you all in on a little secret. You don’t have to reserve a fancy couch here to feel like a VIP. The lounge area is filled with overstuffed leather couches allowing plenty of places to get cozy with your comrades.

Lotus
Reserve your spot on the patio or overlook the peons in the lounge. Okay, you’re not a peon if you’re not VIP. But it’s fun to pretend that you’re cool while sitting in the bottle-service area at Lotus.

Glass Cactus
Pros: They have a humongous patio overlooking Lake Grapevine, a dance floor the size of a football field, and really great live bands. (This weekend: Restless Heart and The Inflatable Love Boys)
