The Week/end That *Was*

Confession: I’m a longtime lover of MiCo’s Mambo Taxi. I crave the tangy margarita taste with a swirl of sweet, sweet sangria. But after a recent visit, and a few too many, I decided I needed to change it up a bit. I took my taste buds on a little journey to discover a new signature cocktail. After several days of “research” (as I like to call it), I found several new favorites. Your homework this week/end: Stray away from the norm and try something new. My recommendations are listed below. Happy drink hunting! (And remember to drink responsibly.)

If you aren’t thirsty yet, maybe looking at last week’s photo galleries will help.

What to *drink* this week/end

SushiSamba’s ‘Hana Hou Hou Shu’ Sake

When I think of sake, I think of sake bombs. Partly because I’m not crazy about the taste of sake by itself, and partly because it’s so much fun to bang on the table and make a huge mess. But SushiSamba’s sparkling pink sake is different.

N9NE’s ‘Ultimate Margarita’

A little pricey ($69), but you won’t care by the time you taste (read: finish) it.

Sangria’s Sangria

It better be darn good, especially if they’re naming their restaurant after it.

Trader Vic’s Original Mai Tai

History Lesson: Did you know that Trader Vic’s is the home of the original Mai Tai?

Bar Belmont’s Chocolate Mint Martini

It probably has a few more calories than you weight-watchers would like to consume in an entire week, but for some reason I don’t care when I’m sipping on this heavenly goodness.
