The Week/end That *Was*

Top o’ the weekend to ya lads and lassies (now say that again, out loud, in your best Irish brogue). I’m so excited about this weekend that I can barely type. The Greenville Ave. St. Patrick’s Day Parade is one of my favorite events of the year. (Word of caution: Think twice before you try crowd surfing at a post-parade concert. Last year’s performance by The Toadies was too hard to resist. Oops.) So, if you have plans on Saturday, cancel them. For those of you who can’t make it, well, I feel sorry for you. But I will drink a green beer in your honor. Here’s where I recommend hanging out during and/or after the parade, and I also threw in a couple of other week/end happenings. Be careful, be safe, and be sure to check out the photo galleries from last week/end!

Where to *be* this week/end

Saturday

3/15

CVS parking lot (Greenville and Lovers)

This is the only day I would recommend partying in the parking lot of a 24-hour drug store, but it’s definitely one of the coolest spots to catch the parade.



Lower Greenville Ave. Block Party

After the parade, head down to the biggest and best after-party between Vanderbilt and Victory streets. It’s like Mardi Gras without the beads and New Year’s Eve without having to wait until midnight.



Idle Rich Pub

If the rambunctious parade crowd is too much for you, celebrate St. Patty’s Day at Idle Rich.


Sunday

Kitchen 1924’s Hangover Brunch

This may be exactly what you need after a day of debauchery. From high noon until 3 p.m. every Sunday, nurse your hangovers with a Bloody Mary bar and $10 all-you-can-eat buffet.



Monday

3/17

The Tipp

Your St. Patrick’s Day headquarters will be hosting events all day long, starting with an Irish breakfast at 8 a.m.
