Not so long ago, a friend was asking us about our newsletter. “Does it take you very much time to put together?” she asked. Here’s a secret about us: We like to appear as if we have things under control at all times. So there’s no way we could tell her the real process: Tuesday comes and we totally forget our newsletter is due (oops). We decide to do it first thing in the morning (probably even come to work early!) Then, we have too much red wine on Tuesday night and have a headache Wednesday morning. Roll in around 10am. Drink coffee and attempt to sort through the cloud that is enshrouding our brain, until our sweet editor taps on our cube and raises one eyebrow. Begin typing furiously, ignoring emails, phone calls, working harder than we’ve worked all week to make this concise list of perfect weekend events for you, dear reader, to peruse. So, here it is. And if anyone asks—it’s a piece of cake.

Sip.Shop.Stroll - Aug. 14
In our experience, drinks and shopping go hand-in-hand. (Though our friends might beg to differ since they’ve seen the dress we bought at Banana Republic last weekend after four mini-Bellinis. Yikes). Anyway, this Thursday, check out the stores in Victory Park while enjoying a complimentary cocktail from the W Hotel. Surely, you’ll find something you have to take home from Haven, V.O.D., Henry Begulin, LFT, or one of the other fabulous stores in VP. There will be music, there will be strolling, and there will probably be purchasing. Just make sure to bring a friend with you for a second opinion.

Music: Dave Matthews Band
Combine 11-minute-long fiddle jams with the Abercrombie and Fitch set and what do you get? A Dave Matthews Band concert.

Theatre and Dance: Jersey Boys
Where we grew up, there was a sandwich shop with the same name as this award-winning musical, so whenever I hear Jersey Boys, I start craving a turkey sub with everything. That’s probably TMI, but is it lunchtime yet?

Wednesday
8/20 |
Happenings: High Balls and Cool Pitchers at the Library Bar
Most times, we’re happy going to bars just to have drinks, but if there’s an extra incentive—other than free nuts—we can get behind that, as well. This is the last Wednesday you can enter to win a fabulous trip just by going to the Warwick Melrose Library Bar, and it’s a good one, because you don’t actually, have to go anywhere.
