There is a decidedly outdoor theme to this week’s newsletter, most likely because we are feeling so darn
summer-y. We can’t help it! We are listening to “Amber” by 311 over and over again, drinking white wine exclusively, wearing only sundresses and sandals, and only dating boys with commitment issues and/or drinking problems. (Well, that last one really happens all year, but still). So here are a bunch of things you can do outside this weekend. Don’t forget about Dad on Sunday, either. He’s been a great sport since you still have pretty much disappointed him on a professional and personal level for the past 10 years. Go, weekend.

City Arts Festival - June 13 Through June 15
You know all those cool exhibitions at the DMA, the Nasher, and the Crow Collection of Asian Art we always tell you about? Check them out this weekend for free. In addition to the free admission, there will be culinary demos, live music, dance performances, and more. So get out there and get some culture. Drag your dad too for some quality bonding time while discussing exactly what the meaning of On Kawara: 10 Tableaux and 16,952 Pages is. Times and locales vary all weekend, check website. Happenings: Cool Thursdays at the Arboretum Through July 31
You probably already know about this event, but we think it bears re-mentioning. Pack a cooler with food and booze, grab a towel to sit on (no grass stains), and call up a friend or two to meet you at the Dallas Arboretum for their Cool Thursdays Summer Concert Series.

Happenings: Euforia Live
Tired of your usual Thursday night same ol’ happy-hour-drinks-at-the-Loon-
followed-by-
Taco-Cabana-drive-through-and-falling-asleep-on-the-couch? Yeah, probably not. But if so, this event sounds really cool.

Theatre and Dance: Shakespeare Dallas’ Production

Happenings: Summer Sunset Movies on the Patio at Central 214 Through June 30
This reminds us of that movie The Wedding Planner, remember, with J.Lo? She watches a movie outside and she scores Matthew McCounaghey. We are not huge fans of his (short arms, and we like brunettes), but we are still going to Central 214 to watch a movie on their patio anyway.
