The folks at Las Ventanas al Paraiso take romance seriously. So seriously, in fact, that they have an entire department devoted to it. No kidding—you can dial up an actual romance department for needs ranging from the perfect proposal (should you need a mermaid to come out of the ocean with an engagement ring, for example) to creating just the right rose petal arrangement on the bed before your grand honeymoon entrance.
Everything at this lovely resort is about getting it just right. It’s the only AA five-star resort in Los Cabos for a reason. The minute you arrive, you’re made to feel at home. Staff members greet you with a welcoming margarita and a cool towel. And then there are the rooms. Las Ventanas boasts 71 luxurious suites that come with excellent views, a telescope for romantic stargazing, and a trusty butler.
Should you opt to leave the room—between the butler and the impressive minibar, you really don’t have to—there are plenty of activities to keep you busy.
Feeling hungry? Choose from four different dining spots, including the formal Baja-Mediterranean spot The Restaurant and the more casual Tequila & Ceviche Bar. Feeling pale? Hang out by one of seven pools. Poolside butlers are on hand to spray you with Evian, have your sunglasses cleaned, hand you a preloaded iPod, and replenish that margarita glass. Feeling domestic? Take a cooking class in the herb garden—either privately or with a few new friends—with executive chef Fabrice Guisset. If that sounds boring, think again. Not only is Guisset beyond charming, he reports that by the end of one recent class, the lovebirds knew how to make ceviche and were dancing on the countertops. And for the couple who is feeling a little restless, there’s the yacht. Book it for a romantic cruise to Lover’s Beach (that’s really the name) and enjoy a day of sunning and snorkeling.
l that sounds a little, well, active, head directly to the spa. Take in some hydrotherapy before getting your treatment. Sure, Las Ventanas has the requisite facials, massages, and pedicures, but the resort also has some very unique services. Sign up for the Holistic Twilight Ceremony, which features chanting, the sounds of crystal bowls, and magical cleansing. A little too far out for you? Go for the Masaje de la Casa, a 90-minute massage consisting of different techniques based on the needs of your body. If you don’t feel up to a walk to the spa, the good people there are happy to set up shop in your room.
Making you happy is what it’s really all about at Las Ventanas. On your way out, the staff even provides a gourmet meal for your flight back to the real world. Unfortunately, the butler isn’t included in the bag.
