Proof that a Sooner and a Longhorn can find love.
It must have been fate for an OU girl to fall for a Texas guy. Ryan Collins had gone to Norman with some friends to watch a game, and after, his group was asked to join a big tailgate swarming with Sooners. Ryan nearly turned down the offer, but when Emily Mindeman caught his eye, he decided it might not be so bad after all. He got her number and after a “full-on, long courtship” (her words), the couple got engaged on her 30th birthday. “It was worth the wait,” she says. The couple wed on April 28 in a rooftop ceremony with Dallas skyscrapers all around.
