Real Weddings: Cynthia Spalding & David Lyons

She's glad she gave him a second chance.

After a rocky introduction at a friend’s Palm Springs wedding, Cynthia Spalding says of her future husband, David Lyons, “I didn’t want to have anything to do with him.” Luckily, she gave him a do-over, and they went out for drinks a week later. Three hours of talking and laughing over drinks led to dinner, and after nearly two years of dating, David asked for her hand in marriage on a row boat in the middle of the lake in Central Park. The couple wed on June 23 in front of 200 guests, many of whom made their first trip to Texas for the event.
