Real Weddings: Morgan and Thomas West
The couple was inspired by the bride's Arabic roots in planning their Fort Worth nuptials.
Morgan and Thomas have been friends since they met in the fifth grade, but they started dating seriously after college. It was only a matter of time before Thomas would propose, and as Morgan remembers, “He was being weird that day.” Weird quickly turned to wonderful—think lots of roses and romantic candles—and she said yes. They were wed on August 6, 2011. “We really wanted the wedding to be a reflection of us,” Morgan says. Drawing inspiration from the bride’s Lebanese background, the couple incorporated several of her family recipes and even hired an Arabic band to interject throughout the night. The almost 400 guests were certain to have learned some new moves on the dance floor.
