Real Weddings: Morgan Orenstein and Matthew Rettke
A beach proposal leads to a dream wedding in McKinney.
Morgan Orenstein and Matthew Rettke have known each other since their high school days in McKinney, but it wasn’t until they reconnected on a college break that the two friends gave dating a go. Three years later on a trip to Boca Raton, the pair was relaxing on the beach when, as Morgan recalls, “Matthew started saying sweet things to me and lots of ‘I love yous.’” When she turned to look at him, he was kneeling with a ring. The couple wed on September 3, 2011, and added white flowers and crystal decorations to the more rustic Cotton Mill reception site, conveying the casual elegance the couple was shooting for. “It was better than I could have ever imagined,” says Morgan. Isn’t that how every bride should feel?
