Her family fell in love with him first.
Michelle Russell and Welden Johnston met more than eight years ago while studying at Baylor University. They hit it off at a party at Billy Bob’s, where Michelle taught her Carolina man to Texas two-step, but the timing was off. Years later, on a flight to a mutual friend’s wedding, the two reconnected. But it was her family that fell in love first. They met Welden in Houston. He was there for an internship; Michelle and her family were attending a graduation. It was only a matter of time before Michelle followed suit, and after six months of dating and a six-month engagement, the couple wed on June 25, 2011.
