Real Weddings: Lauren Mitchell and James Varsamis
The Dedman School creates a lasting partnership.
This law school love story began when both Lauren Mitchell and James Varsamis were 1Ls at SMU. James sat one row behind Lauren in all their classes (Gotta love a seating chart!). A mutual friend nudged them to go on a date, and from that point, they were a pair. James proposed in his hometown of Chicago the day after Thanksgiving. “We went ice skating in Millennium Park, and all the holiday decorations were out,” said Lauren. “Then he took me to a pretty spot in the park and proposed.” She said yes, and the couple wed on May 5, 2011, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
