The dog days of summer are here. If you can’t make it to the beach, we have an excellent alternative. Join the DMA and the Dallas Film Society for screenings of memorable films set on the beach or at sea and in locations ranging from Southern California to the French Riviera. Enjoy Oscar-nominated films such as Alfred Hitchcock’s 1940 gothic classic Rebecca and the 2002 drama Whale Rider. Save the date for Thursdays from July 15 through August 12. Movies start at 7:00 p.m. in the Horchow Auditorium. Before each film, critics, filmmakers, and curators will discuss how coastal landscapes inspire filmmakers and visual artists alike. You can learn and watch great flicks—the best kind of multitasking.
