A little history about us:
North Texas Allergy & Asthma Associates was founded by Dr. Harvey Black in 1927. Dr Black spent many years studying the causes of allergies and over time developed a test for allergy. He was a President of the American Society of Clinical Pathology, coauthored the textbook "Practice of Allergy" in 1945 and was truly a pioneer in his time.


In 1950, James Holman, M.D. joined the practice and took over after the death of Dr. Black. Dr. Holman grew North Texas Allergy & Asthma Associates (which at the time was Holman Allergy Clinic) into one of the foremost allergy practices in the Southwest, with patients referred from all over the region.


In July 2004, Dr. Sandeep Gupta joined his practice after completing his medical training in Los Angeles. Dr. Gupta completed his Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology training at the UCLA Veterans Administration Health Care System. Prior to that, he served as a Clinical Faculty member at UCLA and was on staff in the Department of Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He completed his residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and is a graduate of the University of Southern California - Keck School of Medicine. Throughout his education and training, he has been awarded with many honors and distinctions. Dr. Gupta is married with four children and enjoys spending his free time traveling and working around the yard. His areas of interest include rhinosinusits, asthma, and angioedema.


Dr. Galicia joined the practice in October 2008 after completing her fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Galicia obtained her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. She then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Dr. Galicia is married and enjoys running among other outdoor activities. Her areas of interest include urticaria, rush immunotherapy, and allergies.


Dr. Gupta and Dr. Galicia continue to carry forward the pioneering tradition of Drs. Holman and Black, meshing together new age technology and training with the proven techniques of the past. Recently, the center has gone through substantial renovation, expansion, and modernization. We are currently proud providers of health care at two premier locations in North Texas: Texas Health Resources Dallas Hospital and Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano.
