D Home’s Top 10 Dining Rooms
03.04Laura McGuire didn’t bother looking outside the box when she designed her dining room—she merely looked outside. McGuire transformed the rundown toolshed in her M Street backyard into The Dinner Cottage. It’s the perfect setting for everything from casual, intimate dinners to New Year’s Eve parties and baby showers. And it provides McGuire a place to experiment with color, her line of slipcovers, and her finds from Paris flea markets. “It is a special space. Something I did purely for myself,” she told us in August 2005.
